Why does my ShowerGuard glass have spots after I shower?
It’s normal for water droplets to remain on ShowerGuard glass after use because it is not a water-repellent coating. Water-repellent coatings are made from organic chemicals that wear off over time, requiring reapplication.
In contrast, ShowerGuard glass’ protective coating is permanent because it’s made from inorganic materials. This helps ensure your glass remains resistant to corrosion and stains for the lifetime of your shower — without the need for reapplication.

Can I use aftermarket wipe-on coatings on ShowerGuard glass?
Aftermarket coatings are not necessary or recommended for ShowerGuard glass. ShowerGuard glass coated surface is designed to provide permanent surface protection, and additional coatings may not bond properly or could be incompatible with the existing protective layer.
If you choose to use an aftermarket product, it is at your own risk. These types of products may not damage the ShowerGuard surface or void the warranty, but Guardian cannot guarantee their performance. Some products may not work as advertised when applied to ShowerGuard glass.

I have a water softener, but I still have spots on my ShowerGuard glass. Why?
Water softeners are great for reducing certain minerals, but they don’t remove silica, a naturally occurring substance in water. Silica bonds easily to surfaces, which can lead to spots forming on your glass over time.
